Thomas Nicholas Fafalios

–

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Thomas Fafalios - Tommy, "the Greek" passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 2nd. Tommy was 82 years old and was cared for by his loving family; wife Katina, daughters, Argie and Penny, and son, Mikey.Tommy was born into a large family on May 4, 1939 in Pottstown Pennsylvania. He enlisted in the Marine Corp. at the age of 18 and served our country honorably. He worked many jobs including family run restaurants and an ice cream truck, but he stopped searching when he became a member of the Budd Company on Hunting Park Avenue in Philadelphia. He worked there tirelessly for 30 years. Tommy valued education and pushed for his three children to earn their graduate degrees. He also helped his son accept a tool & die apprenticeship at the Budd company, which propelled him throughout his career.
An enthusiastic humanitarian, Tommy loved being around people. Tommy never met a stranger. He loved helping people, mostly his extended family, but also anyone who needed anything from a ride to the store, to help with their medical insurance, etc. He was always running errands to help people who needed him. He loved talking to people and listening to their stories. Everyone was invited to our home to hang out, eat food, talk and laugh. Tommy had the biggest heart and was generous beyond belief to everyone. Any time we met someone Tommy knew from work they raved about how he was so kind and charismatic. He loved watching Philadelphia team sports in person and on TV. Tommy had over twenty nieces and nephews and all of them share loving stories about him teaching them how to ride their bikes, automobiles, fish and hunt. He was a father figure to many people, and the most present father and grandfather any child could ask for in life. He made quality time for everyone he loved, and Tommy loved everyone!Tommy is also survived by his wife, Katina (Hagithanasis), his son, Michael T. Fafalios, daughter, Penelope (Erik) T.
